Die Busverkäufe in Europa hatten einen starken Start ins Jahr 2024: Die europaweiten Neuzulassungen stiegen im Vergleich zum ersten Halbjahr 2023 um 28,6 % auf insgesamt 20.370 Einheiten. Alle wichtigen Märkte verzeichneten Wachstum, und auch der Elektrobusmarkt boomt weiter! Die Neuzulassungen von Elektrobussen in der EU stiegen im ersten Halbjahr 2024 um 45,4 %. Deren Marktanteil stieg von 13,7 % auf 15,5 %. Und wer führt in diesem spannenden Segment? Frankreich hat in Q1-2/24 insgesamt die meisten Elektrobusse neu auf die Straßen gebracht – Platz 1! Aber: Im Vergleich zu Q1-2/23 ist aber ein Rückgang um 16,4% zu erkennen, denn im Vorjahreszeitraum waren es noch 507 Elektrobusse. Décennie du bus électrique – auch die Franzosen sprechen mittlerweile vom Jahrzehnt des Elektrobusses. Die Zahlen geben ihnen recht: Europaweit liegt Frankreich nach den ersten beiden Quartalen des Jahres 2024 auf Platz 1. In Summe waren es 424 bzw. 398 Elektrobusse, je nach Statistik und berücksichtigtem Gesamtgewicht sowie eindeutiger Markenzuordnung (>3,5 oder >8t), wurden in den ersten sechs Monaten des laufenden Jahres neu zugelassen. Grundlage der ermittelten sind detaillierte Nachfragen bei der European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) und Comité des Constructeurs Français d’Automobiles (CCFA). Wer diese in mühevoller Arbeit wie omnibus.news auswertet, kann auch Hersteller und Plätze im E-Bus-Ranking nennen.

Und wie sieht das Ranking in Frankreich aus? 332 der 398 bzw. 402 Elektrobusse stammen von Iveco Bus, Bluebus und Mercedes-Benz. Über 80 Prozent der Neuzulassungen stammen von drei großen Marken, Lokalpatriotismus hin oder her, den 3. Platz belegt der eCitaro aus dem Hause Mercedes-Benz. Daimler Truck wird bis 2030 rund 50 Millionen Euro in den französischen Standort investieren, um die Produktion von Elektrobussen in Ligny-en-Barrois zu etablieren. Mit dem Umbau bzw. der Modernisierung des Produktionsstandortes wird es 250 zusätzliche Arbeitsplätze geben. In Frankreich laufen seit Juni dieses Jahres die Elektrobusse der eCitaro-Baureihe mit einer Länge von 12 und 18 Metern vom Band. Weil zukünftig Diesel- und Elektrobusse produziert werden sollen, hat Daimler Truck drei 3 Hektar Land zur Erweiterung des Werks erworben. Fahrzeuge der Citaro-Baureihe sollen das einzige Produkt sein bzw. bleiben, dass an diesem Standort gefertigt wird.

Platz 1 belegt Iveco Bus mit 198 neuen Elektrobussen. Die werden im Werk in Rorthais, einem Standort der Traditionsmarke Heuliez, der seit 2015 auch Elektrobusse fertigt. 115 Millionen Euro investiert die Iveco Group in Frankreich, vor allem in den Ausbau der Produktion von Batterie- und Brennstoffzellenbussen, wie  am Rande des Wirtschafts-Gipfel Choose France 2023 bekannt wurde. Der 2. Platz mit 107 Elektrobus-Neuzulassungen geht an den zur Bolloré-Gruppe gehörenden französischen Elektrobus-Hersteller Bluebus. Den drei großen Marken – Mercedes-Benz liegt mit 27 eCitaro auf Platz 3 – folgt auf Platz 4 noch ein Unternehmen, das früh auf Elektromobilität gesetzt hat: Irizar konnte in den ersten sechs Monaten 26 Einheiten auf dem französischen Markt neu zulassen. Danach punktet die chinesische Marke Ankai, die pünktlich zu den Olympischen Sommerspielen 14 E-Sightseeingbusse in Paris an Big Bus Tours übergab. Daimler Truck will invest around 50 million euros in the French site by 2030 to establish the production of electric buses in Ligny-en-Barrois. The conversion and modernization of the production site will create 250 additional jobs. In France, the electric buses of the eCitaro series with a length of 12 and 18 meters have been rolling off the production line since June of this year. Because diesel and electric buses are to be produced in the future, Daimler Truck has acquired three hectares of land to expand the plant. Vehicles from the Citaro series are to be or remain the only product manufactured at this site.

First place goes to Iveco Bus with 198 new electric buses.
